Competitors travel into the Sahara Desert to the Bivouac. Competitors find the tent where they will be staying for the week. Each is numbered, so the athletes can easily find it at the end of each day.

Competitors must check in at the registration tent for medical and administrative controls. They must submit their medical forms, and their backpacks will be checked for the mandatory equipment, and food.
